An inexperienced worker was hired to operate a table saw. The table saw was over 30 years old, had no safety features (blade guard and splitter) and no instruction manual. The worker was not trained to use a “push stick” to avoid placing his hand near the blade when removing wood after it was cut. He suffered partial amputations to three fingers. The case settled prior to suit being filed.
