Maintenance worker suffers lung injuries after chemical explosion.
Obtained a substantial settlement for a 55 year old maintenance worker exposed to noxious gases after chemical explosion. Significant lung injury resulted in extensive treatment and medical retirement within one year, although employer’s worker’s compensation carrier refused to cover any treatment. Chemical company argued substances released in the explosion would not cause injury. Case settled at mediation after defense expert’s conclusions refuted by high school chemistry teacher.
