Woman Seriously Injured after Accident with Tractor Trailer

According to news reports, the woman does not appear to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

 

February 2, 2019 – 3:00 pm: An unidentified woman was taken to a Harris County hospital in critical condition after an accident involving a tractor trailer that took place on Saturday afternoon. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured in the accident.

The crash took place near 3598 North Sam Houston Parkway. It was on the feeder road, shortly east of Old Humble Road in Harris County.

The circumstances of the accident are not clear at this time. The woman hit the tractor trailer, popping the chain that held the load in place and upsetting it. The woman was taken to the hospital when emergency responders arrived on the scene.

According to a tweet from Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, all four lanes of the feeder road were closed after the crash took place. Gonzalez also stated that it did not appear that the woman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The tractor trailer’s driver was unharmed in the crash. Traffic on the feeder road was closed for several hours after the accident. Police are still investigating the cause of the event.
