Woman Killed in Two-Car Wreck in Southwest Houston

According to news reports, the accident claimed the life of a woman in her 80s.

 

February 16, 2019 – 7:00 pm: An unidentified woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash that took place in the Meyerland neighborhood of southwest Houston on Saturday evening. Police have not released the woman’s name, but reports state that she was in her 80s.

The accident took place on the 4900 block of West Bellfort Avenue, near Balmforth Lane. Police have not released much information on the crash, but they confirm that two vehicles were involved in the accident and one woman was killed.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, and it is also unclear whether anyone else was injured in the crash. According to friends and family, the woman who was killed in the crash was reportedly a big part of the local community.

Police blocked off the roads at the site of the accident for some time after the crash took place, while preliminary investigation and cleanup were going on.
