Woman Injured When Car Backs into Laundromat

April 30, 2019

Houston Police state that the accident may have been the result of a driver mistaking the drive gear for the reverse gear.

April 30, 2019 – 11:00 am: A woman in a laundromat was injured on Tuesday morning when a Lincoln sedan backed into the building. Houston Police speculate that the accident happened because the driver of the car thought the vehicle was in drive when it was actually in reverse.

The accident took place at the SGT Washateria on the 9900 block of Fondren Road.

The woman who was injured in the accident was not directly hit by the car. Instead, debris from the accident hit her on the inside of the leg, giving her minor injuries and causing her to be sent to the hospital. The driver of the Lincoln was not injured in the accident.

The woman injured in the accident has not been publicly identified at this time, and neither has the driver of the Lincoln. It is not clear at this time whether the driver of the Lincoln will receive a citation in connection with the crash.
