Woman Killed in Suspected Drunk Driving Case

According to news reports, the driver responsible is being investigated on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

 

January 28, 2019 – 12:30 am: An unidentified woman was killed in a two-car collision that took place in the very early hours of Monday morning. The driver responsible for the crash may face charges, as he is suspected of driving while intoxicated.

The accident took place at the intersection of McCarty and Market Streets.

The suspected drunk driver was headed northbound on McCarty Street when he came to the red light at Market Street. The driver ran the light, hitting a car in the process.

The woman driving the car was killed in the crash.

Neither the man suspected of drunk driving nor the woman killed in the crash has been publicly identified at this time. The man was not injured in the crash.

According to police, the man who was driving the SUV could face charges of intoxication manslaughter if it is found that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Police do not comment on whether the man was arrested after the crash or not. The accident is still under investigation at this time.
