According to news reports, the single-vehicle accident may have been caused by driver fatigue.
February 14, 2019 – 6:00 am: An unidentified truck driver was killed when his Western Star semi-truck crashed just east of Robinson early on Thursday morning. The crash reportedly took place because the driver was too tired to drive his truck properly.
The accident happened while the truck was headed southbound on FM 434, according to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety. The semi ran off the roadway, turning over in the area of Flying Heart Road, a few miles east of Robinson.
The driver, who has not been publicly identified at this time, was later pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no other people were injured in the accident.
Officers reminded the public that they should stop driving when fatigued, because tiredness can lead to negative effects on judgment and vision, making accidents more likely.
Police are still investigating the crash, although at this time it appears that driver error was the cause of the accident. Police will release any new information as it becomes available.
