Three Injured in School Bus Crash

According to news reports, the driver of the vehicle that hit the bus was seriously injured, but is expected to survive.

February 15, 2019 – 4:00 pm: A vehicle hit a Wylie ISD school bus in Abilene, Texas on Friday afternoon, injuring the driver of the bus, one child aboard, and the driver of the vehicle.

The crash took place at the intersection of Buffalo Gap Road and Forrest Hill Road. Police did not comment on the cause of the accident. They state that the vehicle hit the bus head-on after drifting, causing the bus to tip and catch fire.

Only one student, a girl, was on board the bus at the time of the crash. The girl and the bus driver escaped the bus with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the bus was seriously injured, but officials do not believe the person’s injuries are life-threatening.

None of the individuals involved in the crash have been publicly identified. A Midland police officer is credited with rescuing the young girl from the bus before it caught fire.

The cause of the accident is still unclear at the present time. The accident is still being investigated, and police will release more information as it becomes available.
