According to a police press release, the three-vehicle accident was caused by the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup.
April 10, 2019 – 12:00 pm: Three people were injured in a three-vehicle accident that took place around noon on Wednesday in Angelina County. The people who were injured were Angela Bounds, 37, Robin Galloway, 59, and Clarence Rhoden, 79. All three have been hospitalized following the crash.
The accident took place at the intersection of US 69 South and Carrell Road.
Bounds, driving a 2011 Kia passenger car, was stopped going southbound on US 69 and waiting to turn onto Carrell at the time of the crash. Galloway, driving a 2012 Toyota SUV, was stopped behind the Kia. Rhoden, driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup, was also travelling southbound when he reportedly failed to control his speed and hit the rear end of the Toyota.
The force of the impact forced the Toyota into the Kia. All three drivers were taken to various hospitals with their injuries. There is no word on the severity of the victims’ injuries at the present time.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the crash, and more information will be released as they proceed.
