Three Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash in Tarkington

According to news reports, three family members were killed and two were seriously injured in Wednesday’s accident.

 

January 23, 2019 – 6:46 pm: Mark Henson, 57, Jesse Henson, 16, and Lily Protain, 4, died in a two-vehicle crash in which Brianna Henson, 24, and Jordan Henson, 15, were seriously injured. The driver of the other vehicle, 82-year-old George Woodrome, was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

The accident took place in Liberty County, where both vehicles were on FM 163 in the Tarkington area.

According to Sgt. Erik Burse of the Texas Department of Public Safety, “A preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on FM 163, and a 2011 Dodge Avenger was traveling southbound before they collided.”

Woodrome was driving the Tahoe alone, while the other victims were in the Avenger. Brianna Henson was driving the Avenger at the time of the crash.

The damage to both vehicles was extensive. The cause of the accident is not clear at this time. DPS is still investigating the crash, and no charges have been filed in relation to the accident at this time. There is no indication whether or not any charges will be filed in connection to this crash.
