Man Injured after Major Crash with Tanker Truck in Crosby

The Harris County Sherriff’s Office reports that it took over an hour to free the victim from the pickup truck he was driving.

August 30, 2018 – 6:00 am: One man was seriously injured when his pickup truck collided with a tanker truck on Crosby-Lynchburg Road near FM 1942 in Barret Station.

Two helicopter air ambulances were called onto the scene, although as it turned out only one of the drivers involved in the accident was injured. The 18-wheeler driver was not injured in the crash, but the pickup driver was flown to the hospital as soon as he was removed from his vehicle.

The police and fire department report that it took over an hour to cut the man out of the vehicle, due to the extent of the damage and the violence of the wreck. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed at this time.

There is no word on the cause of the accident at this time. Crosby-Lynchburg was blocked in both directions after the accident, and drivers were advised to try Barbers Hill and FM 1942 to avoid delays.

The accident is still under investigation at this time.
