April 22, 2019 – 9:00 am: Six people were killed when a small plane crashed near Kerrville Municipal Airport on Monday morning. According to officials from the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was preparing for landing when it crashed about six miles northwest of the airport.
The pilot and all five passengers died in the crash. According to a witness on the scene, the plane went down in a ravine by the side of a road.
The aircraft was a twin-engine Beechcraft. The pilot has not been publicly identified at this time, and none of the passengers have been publicly identified either.
At the time of the crash, there were low clouds, with 13 mph south winds and gusts of up to 20 mph. Investigators have not commented on whether the weather conditions were a factor leading up to the crash.
