Pedestrian Killed by 18-Wheeler on Lee Road

According to news reports, the identity of the man who was killed in the accident is unknown at this time.

 

November 11, 2018 – 8:28 pm: An unidentified man was killed Sunday night while crossing the street in northeast Houston.

The accident took place on the 14300 block of Lee Road. News reports state that the man who was killed was crossing the street illegally when he was hit.

The man was hit by a white 2012 Peterbilt Bobtail, which was driving northbound in the right lane of Lee Road at the time of the accident. According to witnesses on the scene, a sedan swerved into the path of the Peterbilt, leading the driver of the 18-wheeler to swerve left to avoid a collision.

When the Peterbilt swerved, it hit the man, who was crossing Lee Road from west to east when he was struck. The man was killed in the crash and pronounced dead on the scene when officers responded to the accident.

The identity of the man who was hit has not been released to the public at this time. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the accident, although no charges have been filed at this time.
