One Killed, Four Injured in Crash North of McKinney

According to news reports, one of those injured in the crash was a pregnant woman.

March 17, 2019 – 3:00 am: Nine-year-old R’Niyah Williams was killed in a crash that took place early on Sunday morning. Four others were injured in the accident: the girl’s mother, Deshaela Watson, Jarrell Moore, and two children, one aged 4 and the other aged 6 months.

The accident took place on U.S. Highway 75 in Melissa, north of McKinney. The family was travelling on the highway when the vehicle went off the road, hitting a bridge pillar.

R’Niyah Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other four received serious injuries in the accident. Watson and the 4-year-old child have been taken into intensive care for treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no one else was injured. The names of the children injured in the accident have not been made public at this time. No updates are available on the condition of those injured.

Grief counselors will be available this week at Neblett Elementary School, where R’Niyah was a third grader.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
