One Injured in Katy Freeway Crash

Reports state that hazmat crews took 7 hours to clear the scene after an unidentified material was spilled in the area.

February 28, 2019 – 1:00 am: One person was injured in an accident that took place very early on Thursday morning. The crash involved a box truck and a construction truck. The injured driver has not been identified, and it has not been stated which vehicle they were driving.

The crash took place on I-10, and the circumstances leading up to the crash are unclear at this time.

The crash involved some type of chemical spill, and hazmat teams were working on clearing it until 7:40 a.m. Traffic was totally blocked at one point, and the traffic jam stretched back 7 miles. All lanes of I-10 were finally reopened by noon on Thursday.

The identities of the drivers injured in the crash have not been made public at this time. It is not clear whether any charges will be filed in connection with the crash, or which of the drivers was responsible.
