Two-Vehicle Wreck in Pflugerville Kills One

News reports indicate that three others were injured in the accident that killed one of the passengers.

September 6, 2018 – 10:55 am: A two-car collision killed one woman and injured three other individuals at FM 685 and Old Austin Hutto Road on Thursday morning. Street closures followed after the accident, while investigators analyzed the crash.

A 62-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were taken to local hospitals. The condition of the other three injured individuals has not been released at this time.

The two vehicles in the crash were a Ford Focus and a Suzuki SUV. The woman who died in the accident was a passenger in the Focus, while two of the injured individuals were in the Suzuki.

The accident is still under investigation, but preliminary reports state that the crash happened when a vehicle headed southbound on FM 685 made a turn onto Old Austin Hutto Road and hit the other vehicle, which was headed northbound at the time.

There were serious delays on FM 685, which was down to one lane in each direction as of Thursday afternoon. The entire roadway was briefly closed when officers first arrived on the scene.
