One Dead, One Critically Injured in Uber Crash

Police state that there were three vehicles in the accident and two of the drivers involved were intoxicated.

March 1, 2019 – 1:00 am: An Uber passenger was killed and the Uber driver critically injured in a three-vehicle crash that took place very early on Friday morning. Two pickup trucks were involved in the crash, the drivers of which will face criminal charges.

The crash took place in southeast Houston, near the intersection of Pineloch Drive and Galveston Road.

The Uber driver and passenger were in a gray Dodge sedan when they were hit by a gray Dodge truck that was headed north on Galveston road. After the crash, another pickup hit the vehicles.

The Uber’s passenger was killed in the accident, while the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Dodge pickup is going to face charges for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. The other driver will face charges for driving under the influence. Neither of the pickup drivers was seriously injured in the crash.

After the crash, a fourth vehicle went through the police barricade and hit a patrol car. No one was injured in that accident.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
