Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Motorcyclist Dead in Leander

September 22, 2018 – 11:57 pm: A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash with a light-colored pickup truck late Saturday night. Police are still searching for the driver of the truck.

The accident took place in Leander, Texas on Saturday night, near the intersection of Palmera Ridge Boulevard and Ronald W. Reagan Boulevard.

The accident happened when a truck turned from Palmera Ridge and into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle, traveling southbound on Ronald Reagan, hit the rear of the truck.

The motorcyclist was taken to the St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center after the crash. He was identified as the 34-year-old Danny Roy Hankins, of Round Rock. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after the crash.

Police are looking for the driver of the truck. The truck is a white or light-colored GMC or Chevrolet pickup, with a toolbox and work rack in the back.
