Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Sunday Crash

According to police reports, the man lost his leg in the accident, which took place after he ran a red light in front of a truck.

March 24, 2019 – 1:00 am: An unidentified motorcyclist lost a leg and was taken to the hospital early on Sunday morning as a result of an accident that took place just north of Houston.

According to the Porter Fire Department, the accident took place at the intersection of FM 1314 and State Highway 99. The motorcyclist was taken to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands.

The Texas Department of Public Safety states that the motorcyclist ran a red light at SH-99. When he ran the red light, a pickup truck making a right turn onto SH-99 hit him.

The impact severed the motorcyclist’s leg and left him in critical condition. The driver of the pickup was not injured in the accident.

Neither the motorcyclist nor the driver of the pickup truck has been publicly identified at the present time. As of 10:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, the motorcyclist remained in critical condition.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time, and DPS will release more information as it becomes available.
