Man Injured When U-Haul Pickup Strikes His House

News reports state that the driver of the U-Haul fled the scene of the accident on foot.

March 8, 2019 – 3:30 am: A man was hospitalized on Friday morning with injuries he received when a U-Haul pickup truck ran into his house while he was sleeping. A baby who was in the home at the time of the crash was not injured.

The accident happened near the corner of Sharondale Drive and Westover Street in southeast Houston.

Early on Friday morning, a U-Haul pickup was headed down Westover Street, blew through a stop sign, and crashed into the house. According to reports from the police, the driver of the pickup fled the scene of the accident on foot.

The pickup crashed into the room where the man was sleeping. He was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries, but the baby in the house was uninjured.

Police state that the pickup truck was not reported as stolen. The cause of the accident remains unclear at the present time.
