Man Injured After Hitting Guard Rail

According to news reports, the man was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital for treatment after the crash.

March 14, 2019 – 4:20 pm: William Nash Jr., a 46-year-old man, was hospitalized in Nacogdoches on Thursday afternoon after hitting a guard rail in Shelby County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The accident took place on U.S. Highway 96, about two miles north of Center.

Nash was reportedly driving a 2014 Dodge passenger car southbound on the highway, when his vehicle swerved to the right and hit a guard rail. Police do not comment on what may have caused Nash to lose control of the vehicle.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident. At this time, there is no information available concerning the extent of Nash’s injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the accident quickly, and Nash was safely taken from the scene of the crash to the hospital. Traffic along Highway 96 was slowed for a time while investigation was underway, but has since been reopened.

The accident is still under investigation at the present time.
