Man Killed in Killeen Motorcycle Accident

According to news reports, the man died when he failed to make a high-speed turn in his motorcycle.

 

February 6, 2019 – 12:15 am: Caden Michael Shunk, 21, died in a crash that took place on Stagecoach Road early on Wednesday morning. According to police reports, Shunk failed to take a curve at high speed on his motorcycle, hitting a wall.

The crash took place on the 1300 block of Stagecoach Road, according to a report from the Killeen Police Department.

Before the crash, a patrol officer saw the motorcyclist commit a traffic violation on W.S. Young Drive. The officer moved to pull the motorcycle over, but lost sight of it on Stagecoach Road.

The crash had already taken place by the time the officer found the motorcycle again. Shunk had hit a wall, throwing him from the motorcycle and into a tree. A Justice of the Peace showed up on the scene shortly afterward, pronouncing Shunk dead on the scene at 12:58 am.

Shunk’s body was taken into the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy. The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit reports that they are still investigating the accident and will release any new information.
