Man Critically Injured in Sunday Morning Crash

According to news reports, police are investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor in the crash.

 

February 17, 2019 – 12:20 am: A man is in the hospital after receiving critical injuries in a crash that took place very early on Sunday morning. Firefighters had to remove the man from the vehicle after the single-car crash.

The accident took place at the intersection of Blueridge and Bahia, near the Sam Houston and Fort Bend Tollways.

The driver was driving at a high rate of speed, southbound along Blueridge. He came to a slight curve and drove off the road for unknown reasons. The car crossed a grassy area, then a parking lot, then hit and snapped a power pole, and finally hit a concrete wall.

Serious damage was done to the vehicle, and firefighters had to be called onto the scene to free the man from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police suspect that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, but this suspicion has not been confirmed at this time. There is no certain explanation for why the driver left the road. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
