Innocent Driver Injured in Crash with Carjackers

According to news reports, the carjackers escaped, but the innocent driver only received minor injuries and is expected to be okay.

February 20, 2019 – 12:00 am: A driver received minor injuries after crashing into a vehicle driven by carjackers who were evading police. The carjackers fled the scene of the accident on foot, and the Houston Police Department is still searching for them.

The accident took place near the intersection of Gessner Road and Tiger Trail.

Police report that the four carjackers stole the victim’s vehicle at gunpoint, near Gessner Road and Hammerly Boulevard. Police later spotted the car and tried to pull it over. The carjackers fled, but didn’t make it very far before crashing into the innocent driver.

The driver has been treated for minor injuries and is expected to be all right. The driver’s identity has not been made public.

The carjackers fled the scene of the accident on foot. HPD officers initially conducted a search, but it was called off about an hour after the crash. None of the carjackers was found.
