One Student Killed, Three Injured in School Bus Crash

News reports state that the accident took place in the Dallas area, where a school bus drove into a ditch and burst into flames on Wednesday afternoon.

October 3, 2018 – 3:45 pm: One child was killed and three others were injured in a school bush crash in Mesquite County on Wednesday afternoon. The driver and three police officers were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The bus was carrying 42 students from Terry Middle School when it fell into a ditch in suburban Dallas. The bus touched a power line, which ignited the fire and soon engulfed the whole bus in flames.

It was not long before emergency personnel arrived on the scene. Three injured students and the bus driver were removed from the bus, while all but one of the other students were able to get out of the burning vehicle unharmed. Three police officers were injured during the rescue.

One girl died in the fire and has been pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, none of the names of the victims has been made public. The accident is still under investigation, and it is unknown how the bus ended up driving into the ditch.
