Infant Killed, Two Injured in Suspected Drunk Driving Crash

According to news reports, the accident took place outside a Dollar General store in San Antonio.

February 25, 2019 – 5:00 pm: A 1-year old infant was killed and two women were injured in an accident in a San Antonio parking lot on Monday afternoon. The driver of a pickup truck, 25-year-old David Fuentes, is suspected of being drunk at the time of the crash.

The infant was sitting in a shopping cart in the parking lot when Fuentes turned into the parking lot and hit the cart head-on. Fuentes then hit a parked vehicle, injuring a woman in her 60s.

The baby was thrown from the cart and the two women were injured. All three were taken to the hospital, where the baby was later pronounced dead.

Fuentes faces charges for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. These charges may be altered if there is a change in the status of the women injured in the accident.

The extent of the injuries to the mother and the other woman have not been made public at this time. A passenger in Fuentes’ vehicle was taken in for questioning. The accident is still being investigated at this time.
