Four Killed in Crash Near Bastrop

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, three of those killed in the crash were sisters.

March 29, 2019 – 9:00 pm: Three sisters and one of their friends were killed in an accident that happened Friday night near Bastrop. The mother of the sisters was the driver, who has since been hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The crash took place on westbound Texas 21, near Bastrop. The group was headed from Huntsville to watch a drill team competition in San Antonio.

The girls were stopped at a corner, waiting to make a turn when their vehicle was rear-ended by a pickup truck.

The identities of the girls killed in the crash were not immediately released. The sisters were a high school junior, an eighth grader, and a sixth grader. The fourth girl was a 2018 graduate of Huntsville High School.

The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger on the truck survived the accident without injury. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

Investigation into the crash is currently ongoing. A GoFundMe page has been started to cover the costs the family will experience as a result of the tragedy.
