Four Injured in Plane Crash in Hereford

News reports say that Sunday morning’s crash is still under investigation, and the investigation will be led by the National Transportation Safety Board.

September 9, 2018 – 11:40 am: Four people were injured on Sunday morning when their small plane went down. One of the victims has already been released from the hospital, and one of them remains in critical condition.

Heath Reinert of Canyon was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, and has already been released. Andrea Reinert, also of Canyon, was taken to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. She remains in critical condition.

Jason Messer of Hereford was taken to the Hereford Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Lubbock. He is in stable condition.

Keaton Buxton of Canyon was taken to the Hereford Regional Medical Center. He is also in stable condition.

The investigation is underway, but at this point, there is no indication of the cause of the crash. An eyewitness reports that the plane was flying with the nose upward and the tail downward just before the crash happened.

The National Transportation Safety Board is set to take the lead in the investigation this week. The National Board’s procedures will be the official investigation into the crash.
