Driver Killed, Several Children Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

According to news reports, a 7-month-old baby was thrown from the vehicle but is now in stable condition.

March 9, 2019 – 4:30 pm: One man is dead, one baby was seriously injured, and four children received minor injuries in a single-car crash that took place in east Harris County on Saturday.

The crash took place on the 14700 block of Woodforest Boulevard, near East Sam Houston Parkway North.

The unidentified driver was operating a Chevy Tahoe with eight people on board at the time of the crash. The Tahoe hit the railing on the bridge over the Carpenter Bayou, throwing a 7-month-old baby from the vehicle.

The driver was killed in the crash. The baby was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by helicopter and was in stable condition as of 8:24 p.m. on Saturday evening. Four children, none of them wearing seat belts, experienced minor injuries in the accident.

The name of the driver and those of the children involved in the crash have not been made public at this time. The cause of the crash is unclear at the present moment. Investigation into the accident is ongoing, and more information will be made public as it comes to light.
