Driver Dead in North Houston Crash

According to news reports, the man crashed into a tree and died in the single-vehicle crash.

February 19, 2019 – 3:20 am: One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in north Houston on Tuesday morning, after apparently losing control of his vehicle and crashing his Honda Civic into a tree.

The accident took place on the 1300 block of Northborough Drive in northern Houston.

According to a report from Houston Police Department Sergeant J. Uribe, the driver was headed northbound in his gray Civic when his vehicle began to veer into the opposite lane. Witnesses state that the man overcorrected to avoid a head-on collision, swerving off the road and hitting a tree.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene after first responders arrived. The man’s identity has not been released at this time and will not be released until the man’s next of kin is informed. His identity is pending verification from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

No one else was harmed in the crash, and no other vehicles were involved. Police have not commented on possible causes of the accident.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
