According to news reports, the woman died on November 1, after her home exploded on October 27.

November 1, 2018 – 3:00 pm: Nicole Burton, a 44-year-old Austin woman, died Thursday afternoon of burns she sustained when her home exploded last Saturday.

The home was located in the 2300 block of Bendridge Trail in Austin. A man in his 50s was also present at the time of the explosion, receiving burns in the event. The man is still living, although his condition has not been released to the public.

The initial explosion caused an estimated $750,000 in property damage. Nearby homes and vehicles were damaged in the blast, although no one other than the couple in the home was injured at the time. The couple living next door to the house that exploded have not been able to return home since Saturday.

The explosion appears to have been caused by a natural gas buildup beneath the home, and investigation into the event is currently underway. The Railroad Commission of Texas found that a nearby home was the site of a failure in a service line, which could have been caused by a third party. No definitive word on the cause of the explosion has been released at this time.
