Pregnant Woman and Male Driver Injured after Police Chase Ends in Crash

According to news reports, the man was driving a Ford pickup that was allegedly stolen, and the woman was his passenger.

September 30, 2018 – 11:30 pm: A man and woman were injured in a car crash after leading a police on a short car chase on Sunday night.

The crash occurred in Houston’s East End, on the corner of Navigation and Baywood. The pickup struck a small tree and came to a stop in a pile of debris near a business.

Police originally tried to stop the man after receiving reports that the Ford pickup he was driving was stolen. He was first approached in the 3500 block of Harrisburg, near York. The man refused to stop, choosing to flee the police.

The man and the pregnant woman were both injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The woman’s condition is listed as stable, but news reports do not confirm that her unborn child is safe. Police took the man into custody and report that he is likely to face several criminal charges.

Police have not released the identities of the man or the woman involved in the crash.
