News reports state that a speeding car ran a red light, leading to the two-car crash that killed both drivers involved.
September 15, 2018 – 10:30 pm: Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Highway 249 and Fallbrook in northwest Harris County, killing both drivers in the crash.
The crash is reported to have happened as a result of one driver running a red light at the Fallbrook intersection while driving down Highway 249. According to at least one witness, the driver, Zachery Palazzetti, ran the red light while heading southbound in his 2018 Acura ILX.
Palazzetti hit the other vehicle, a Ford Taurus that was trying to make a left turn. Rafie Martin, the driver of the Taurus, was killed in the accident. After the collision, Palazzetti’s Acura crashed into a pole.
A witness on the scene of the accident reports that Palazzetti came very close to hitting her. She reports, “I got out of the car and I turned around into the hotel right there. Another car was helpful and brought the other person out cause the car looked like it was going to catch on fire.”
This accident is still under investigation at this time. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office still has not made any official statement regarding the cause of the accident.
