News reports state that two were killed and two were injured in the crash, which took place on U.S. Highway 190, near Kempner.

September 5, 2018 – 11:30 am: Two people died in an accident on U.S. 190 on Wednesday morning, in a crash that left a toddler and a woman injured.

Victor Morrison Jr., 41, and Cynthia Morrison, 40, were driving eastbound on U.S. 190 in a 1999 Ford pickup when a 2005 Lincoln SUV being driven by 22-year-old Presli Peters hit them head-on. Investigators report that it’s unclear what caused Peters, who was going westbound, to drive into the eastbound lane.

Both of the Morrisons were killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

Peters and her 2-year-old passenger were both seriously injured in the accident and taken to the Scott & White Medical Center.

The cause of the accident has not been specifically stated, but a press release from the Texas Department of Public safety advises, “DPS would like to remind motorists how important it is to always drive at a speed that is legal and safe for conditions.”

Department of Public Safety Sgt. David Roberts says the accident is still under investigation at this time.
